Texas??? We didn’t plan this!!!

Dear family and friends,

Just a note to let you know we have to make a slight detour before we get back to Alabama. There is some business we need to take care of in Texas and we have to be there to handle it so we will likely not be back in Alabama until the first part of September.

We have had a great trip thus far and a wonderful visit with Butch’s family.  We were able to join them in celebrating a 25th wedding anniversary for one brother and sister -in-law and had the opportunity to visit with all of his brothers and sisters except the one sister living in Oregon. He now has eight siblings living having lost three in one year.

One of the most exciting parts of our trip so far was ending up in the middle of the 64TH ANNUAL BLACK Hills classic motor rally or Sturgis motor rally. That only increases the population in that area by approximately 500,000 bikers, and certainly gives Harley a big boost in advertising. Never seen so many motorcycles in one place in my life and there were bikes and bikers of all descriptions. Most were courteous, some were “fired up” but we still enjoyed our trip to mount Rushmore and across the badlands even with their escort most of the way to Wisconsin!

I know you are still interested in knowing our plans for the winter months but we are not certain of those yet. We have been in touch with NAMB and are looking into some requests that are currently open but at this point it is all still a matter of prayer and God’s guidance. We do ask that you join us in praying that he will open the door he wants us to go through and make clear where we can best serve him.  We do plan to join Westwood in Texas in March and to once again serve in west Yellowstone next summer so please keep those missions in prayer too.
